RIGHT NOW IS THE TIME to apply for the scholarships offered through the
Saskatchewan Aviation Council!


The Dennis O'Brien/John Iverson Memorial Scholarship Fund Inc. is a memorial trust fund, administered by the Saskatchewan Aviation Council, that promotes aviation by awarding two annual scholarships. These include:

$1,000 Scholarship for commercial pilot training and $1,000 Scholarship for A.M.E. training

Each of these scholarships will be presented at the SAC Annual Conference & Trade Show held each year in the fall.

Application Procedures:

(1) Complete the application attached and submit to the SAC no later than October 15th.

(2) Along with this application form, submit a letter describing your interest in aviation and your future plans. This letter should outline your aspirations and goals, and comment on what you have been able to achieve, so far, working towards your goals and your career in aviation.

(3) Attach any reference letters, if desired.

  Hall of Fame Awards

The Saskatchewan Aviation Hall of Fame Award recognizes extraordinary lifelong professional contributions to aviation. The recipients of the Saskatchewan Aviation Hall of Fame Award are the builders of the aviation industry.  For decades, through their perseverance, business savvy and technological innovation, award winners have created an industry and a community around air service in Saskatchewan.

The Distinguished Airman Award is designed to recognize and honor workers in the aviation industry. Pilots, engineers and others who have spent their working lives in the Saskatchewan Aviation Industry and have served with great distinction.  Individuals considered for this award may include pilots and aviation personnel: serving on scheduled airlines, flying charters over our vast province, northern wilderness flying, aerial crop sprayers, aerial firefighters, air ambulance, flying farmers, pilot trainers, private pilots, engineers who have worked day and night to keep our airplanes safe. The Distinguished Airman Award will recognize those past and present heroes who form the backbone of the aviation industry in Saskatchewan.

The David Eckmire Industry Service Award is presented in recognition of an individual within the aviation support industry who exemplifies pursuit of excellence and service to others. Past recipients have included airport operators, air show coordinator, pilot instructor, aircraft builders and restorers, Aviation Council supporters and others. This Award honors high standards for individual achievement on behalf of and in support of the aims goals and objectives of Saskatchewan aviation.
